Non-Ferrous Metal Rolling Oils
Hot and cold rolling processes require the application of a lubricant in order to achieve specific performance requirements, for example, to improve surface quality, lower friction, reduce energy consumption or to increase roll lifetime. In hot roiling applications the rolling oil is used in an emulsion form and for cold rolling applications neat oils or oil-in-water emulsions can be used.
Croda is a leading supplier of fatty acids, esters, phosphate esters, surfactants and emulsifiers and our products are suitable for use in the formulation of oil-in-water emulsions, neat oils and synthetic water based systems for applications such as aluminium breakdown, foil and cold rolling mills, copper, zinc and other non-ferrous metal rolling mills.
With a strong focus on improving formulation performance, Croda Lubricants offers a comprehensive range of products designed to improve many aspects of both the rolling process and metal rolling formulations, for example:
- Improved surface finish
- Soap free formulations
- High oxidative stability
- Controlled lubrication
- Excellent cooling properties
- Controlled particle size
- Emulsion stability
Croda's range of high quality esters are recommended for use in rolling oil formulations. Possessing good oxidation stability properties, they also provide controlled lubrication and ease of handling. Our extensive product range also includes self emulsifying esters which offer formulation simplification by removing the need for a separate ester and emulsification package.
